Information We Collect

We may collect your email address, account identifiers, profile data, learning language settings, conversation messages, voice recordings or transcripts, approximate or precise location used to start nearby scenarios, and subscription status needed to unlock paid features.

If you use Learn Together, we also process your opt-in eligibility status, adult confirmation, coarse location cell for nearby matching, anonymous session aliases, invite and session metadata, safety reports, blocks, and moderated human-to-human text messages. Learn Together is designed so exact real-time location, exact venue name tied to another learner, and public profile identity are not revealed to strangers.

Why We Use It

We use this data to authenticate your account, personalize your learning plan, generate scenario conversations, process voice practice, verify purchases, protect against abuse, and improve app reliability.

For Learn Together, we use coarse location only to determine whether another eligible learner may be nearby, to deliver anonymous invites, to run short practice sessions, to apply moderation and anti-abuse safeguards, and to start an AI fallback session if no human partner responds in time.

Third-Party Services

Magellang relies on infrastructure and SDK partners such as map, email, analytics, subscription, and AI providers to operate the service. These providers may process data needed to deliver their features on our behalf.

Your Choices

You can deny location or microphone permissions, although some features may become limited. You can also request deletion of your account and associated data in the app or by emailing hello@magellang.app.

Learn Together is optional and off by default. You can choose not to enable it, stop sharing availability at any time, and use in-app block or report controls if another learner behaves inappropriately.
